Refreshing, Simple-to-Make Ginger Green Chia Iced Tea (pictured above)
One 13.5-oz. bottle of chilled Green Tea Ginger Twist by Argo Tea
Chia seeds (we used Bob’s Red Mill brand but there many other brands available)
Instructions:
Combine one or two tablespoons of chia seeds in bottle of tea and shake gently
Drink, indulge and enjoy.  For a thicker texture, allow chia seeds to “soak” for 10 minutes before drinking
Chia seeds may be small but they pack a knockout nutritional punch.  Grown in Mexico and South America, chia seeds—which means “strength” in the Mayan language—are said to have been used by Mayan and Aztec cultures for its medicinal impact as well as for increasing stamina and energy.  Chia seeds have high nutritional density, delivering the maximum amount of nutrients with minimum calories.  Sprinkle them on foods or mix them with beverages for an immediate boost in antioxidants, calcium, essential fatty acids, fiber and protein[i].
1 tablespoon of Bob’s Red Mill Chia seeds contains the following[ii]:
Dietary Fiber – 5 grams or 20% of daily value*
Protein – 3 grams of 6% of daily value*
Calcium – 6% of daily value*
Iron – 4% of daily value*
Also contains 2282 milligrams of Omega 3 and 752 milligrams of Omega 6 fatty acids
* Based on 2000 calories per day

a-quick-drink:

I’ve been telling myself I’ve got too much tea (seriously, I’m gonna dig through it in the near future and thin out the herd), so what do I do? Buy more tea… But but… They were on sale! And come in awesome reusable glass bottles! And the ginger twist one burns with gingery goodness! D:

Easy Overnight Oats:
1/4 cup rolled oats (organic is best)
1/4 cup skim or vinalla almond milk (no sugar)
1/4 plain non-fat Greek yogurt (optional for extra protein)
1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds
1 table spoon of honey, maple syrup, agave, or sweetener of choice
1/4-1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
1-2 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and set in fridge overnight to soak. Spoon mixture over fruit and top with fresh or dried berries, nuts, coconut shavings, seeds, etc!
Note: overnight oat recipes are basically equal parts oats to milk, so if you want to make more or less, just make sure the ratio to milk, oats, and optional yogurt are 1:1:1. Also, for extra protein, mix in protein powder or nut butter! I’ve done a tablespoon of PB2 with 1/2 tablespoon of raw cocoa powder in addition to the above ingredients and it is delicious! It tastes like a granola or protein bar. View high resolution
